Leading representatives from the world of politics and business again found their way to Davos as part of the 40th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. The Canton Grisons together with the Swiss Confederation and Cantons have once again mastered the numerous challenges associated with such a large event. The authorities, security forces and people were deeply saddened by the death of the chief constable of the cantonal police, Dr. Markus Reinhardt.

This year, cooperation between the Swiss Confederation, the Cantons, the municipality of Davos, and other partners was again successful. Security for participants, guests and the local populace was guaranteed at all times.

The municipality of Davos and the Canton Grisons again offered ideal conditions to the WEF annual meeting in 2010, benefiting the "Open Forum" and the "Public Eye" as well as many spontaneous meetings in and around Davos. All demonstrations in Davos were peaceful.

A major event such as the WEF annual meeting in Davos with thousands of participants cannot be held without the support of the Swiss Confederation, army, cantons, municipalities and people. The WEF Committee for the Government of the Canton Grisons would like to thank all participants, and especially the police forces whose efforts were overshadowed by the sudden death of their chief.

The WEF Committee for the Government of the Canton Grisons is confident that the smooth cooperation among all participants will continue to provide ideal conditions for future annual meetings of the WEF.
