The authorities of the Canton Grisons draw a positive conclusion to the 41st annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. The Canton Grisons as the host canton and Davos as congress center have once again provided the best possible environment for discussions at both the WEF and the Open Forum. A few provocations took place during the approved demonstration on Saturday.

A group of some 120 demonstrators did not want to adhere to the approved demonstration route. The police used water and rubber shot among other elements to stop them from entering the restricted zones. One woman passing by was slightly injured; damage to property was minimal.

Since January 26, 2011, about 2500 leading personalities from business, politics, science, and society at large have participated in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in the Grison mountains. The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum confirmed its outstanding political and economic value for the Swiss Confederation, the Canton Grisons, and Davos. Four Federal Councilors as well as various members of the Government of the Canton Grisons took the opportunity to establish and cultivate international contacts with high-level government officials as well leading business managers.

The new congress center in Davos was well received and offered ideal conditions for open and relaxed discussions. The events of the "Open Forum" and "Public Eye" as well as numerous spontaneous meetings also benefited from the special atmosphere in Davos.

The WEF Committee for the Government of the Canton Grisons would like to thank all participants and members of the police and military in particular for their efforts.
